I offer business strategy consultation. Often, it happens by default as I am helping people with their marketing. (I'm presently making it a lot more formal with specific offerings.)
One of the things that I find fascinating is how often something that can help their business is obvious to me, but they never thought of it.
For example, one really outstanding client, AISensum, created a AI agent chatbot that goes beyond simply using canned answers - it actively engages and sells to clients.
We were working on their website. They wanted to really highlight this amazingly powerful sales tool.
I said, "Why not put it on your website?"
The original plan was to do what every other agency does - simply talk about it on the website.
Today, it's on their website and is, according to the CEO, Vivek Thomas, making sales and developing relationships.
If I were to give all my clients and readers one piece of advice it would be, "Get out of your head and ask someone who isn't afraid to hurt your feelings a bit.
I had another client who designed a door lock. It locks the door by being screwed in the strike plate. He had thousands made.
The problem is that no one is going to do this in their hotel or even an apartment. Taking off the strike plate isn't something most people will want to do.
He's such a great guy, I feel terrible that I can't help him sell his product. I think he needed to ask someone else about what might be wrong with his idea.
Talk to someone who is there to be honest, not tell you want you to hear.
Honesty will help you save time and money.
