It's a simple idea: In today's world, the combination of a human writer with an AI assistant is the way to go.
For the average customer of a freelance writer, a bit of advice: It will be best not to start the conversation with, "I don't want you to use AI for anything."
I've had multiple writing assistants over the years. All of them did exactly what AI does for me now.
- Research
- Outlining
- Idea creation
- Proofreading/editing
It's all about making sure that the human does the bulk of the writing.
Here's an interesting note for those who think that AI is the easy way out: Done well, AI only saves about 10-15% of time. Otherwise, it's just as much work as before.
AI in writing isn't evil. It's often low quality and that's what gets it in trouble.
BTW, I don't think LinkedIn penalizes AI-written content. After all, they have a button that says, "Rewrite with AI." Why offer something you're going to penalize it?
If you're going to hire a writer, it's not going to be honest for you or them. Talk about how they use AI, so the conversation is honest and helpful.
AI in writing is not bad; it's just not a good writer with good ideas.
