How to Write a Great Cold Email Series

A note about email marketing: Don't bother making your cold email series a "series" that builds one on the other.

Answer honestly: Have you ever read emails you received from someone you didn't know in a series? Did you ever read a cold marketing email and say, "Ooo! I can't wait for the next installment"?

No one does.

Instead of making your email series a storytelling series no one asked to read, use each email to answer a pain points.

Here's a basic layout for a six email series:

1 - General introduction to your services and products. Include 3-4 pain points answered. (Note: Please don't tell them what inspired you to start the company. No one cares. Sorry.)

2 - Pain Point 1

3- Pain Point 2

4 - Pain Point 3

5 - Ask for a quick meeting with a very short email

6- Another general email summarizing your offerings, giving social proof, and asking for a call/sales/etc.

Writing a series like this allows your "readers" to see the six subject lines. Hopefully, one of the pain points will get them to open the emails.

How do you plan your cold email marketing series?
